Merry Miller, Ph.D
Sport and Performance Psychology Consultant
Dr. Merry Miller is a performance consultant with extensive experience in sport. She is noted for her applied work with amateur and professional athletes preparing for national and international level competition. She has provided services to many of Canada’s national teams which include speedskating, alpine and Nordic skiing, biathlon, badminton, cycling, luge and waterskiing. Merry has also provided services to numerous other amateur and professional athletes and teams which include hockey, figure skating, golf, football, basketball, and baseball.
Professional Credentials include a Ph.D. in Sport Psychology from Florida State University, a M.A. in Coaching Science and a B.A. in Interpersonal Communications from Central Michigan University. As an adjunct professor at the University of Calgary, Merry has conducted research on confidence, motivation, team cohesion, and overtraining/burnout as it relates to sport performance.
Merry was a competitive swimmer and figure skater. As a head coach of high school, university, and military teams in Canada and the US, Merry trained developmental through international level swimmers. Strongly committed to coach education, Merry is extensively involved with the Coaching Association of Canada’s national Coaching Certification Program; she is an accredited presenter in all five levels of the national program.
