FUNCTIONAL SPORT SPECIFIC ASSESSMENTS

One of the advantages that Pinnacle Institute athletes have is they are thoroughly assessed by a sports physiotherapist prior to commencing training as well as during their training if required.  This assessment includes joint and muscle specific testing for range of motion and strength as well as common biomechanical problems such as foot  and lower leg alignment, postural control, joint stability and  footwear.  Each assessment takes approximately one hour, and is also used as a screening tool to identify any potential problems that could develop into overuse injury situations.  If these problems are identified early and corrected, no time is lost during the season due to an overuse injury.  As well, these assessments provide an excellent baseline for comparison if a traumatic injury occurs during the season. For athletes in contact sports, cognitive baseline testing for concussions can also be arranged.
