Annick deGooyer B.Sc., P.T., C.A.F.C.I.
Originally from Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Annick graduated from Dalhousie University School of Physiotherapy in 1987. She worked for 10 years at the Nova Scotia Rehabilitation Centre, treating orthopedic injuries and clients with chronic pain syndromes. During her last two years she served as Supervisor of Orthopedics, and the Director of Physiotherapy. In 1996 she traveled to Kuwait where she spent 2 years as a member of the Kuwait-Dalhousie Physiotherapy Project. As a clinical educator and later as senior on the orthopedic team, she worked one on one with Kuwaiti physiotherapists bringing practice and documentation skills toward world standard. In 1999, Annick joined Pinnacle Physiotherapy. Annick remains active in the clinical education of students. She was the chair of the College of Physical Therapists of BC for 4 years and continues to be involved in College committees. In 1995, Annick completed the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada certification and has used acupuncture as an adjunct therapy for 11 years. Not only is she a former competitive runner and Canadian national team member, she was the Canadian Women’s Cross Country Champion in 1990. She also was the Female Athlete of the Year both in high school as well as Dalhousie University! Annick is involved in the Kelowna running community, having been president of the Kelowna Running Club, and is the race director for the Midsummer 8km race. She also skis, swims, cycles, and plays clarinet in the Kelowna City Band.
